How much does the material cost to insulate a house with polystyrene foam?
Insulation made with polystyrene or mineral wool is the most common solution. A square metre of good quality white polystyrene costs around 20 PLN per square metre. To this must be added the purchase of adhesive mortar. This is approximately PLN 1,000 when insulating a building of 150 square metres.
It is also necessary to purchase fibreglass mesh and special adhesive. Given the size of the building we are assuming, this amounts to around 1,500 PLN. The price of insulation is also influenced by the choice of external plaster. The price may vary from several hundred to several thousand zlotys. Ultimately, insulating with polystyrene foam may cost between PLN 15,000 and PLN 20,000 for a 150-metre building.
How much does the material cost to insulate a house with thin-film insulation?
However, traditional insulation is not possible everywhere. Where it is not possible to use polystyrene or mineral wool, thin-film insulation will work. These are special thermal coatings. They are used to insulate the facades of all types of residential buildings.
So how much does it cost to insulate a house using this method? The price ranges from about 50 zł to 100 zł. This is the cost per 1 m2 of foam insulation. However, the final cost depends on the surface of the building and the thickness of insulation. To this must be added the purchase of additional means.
